First day of The Romani Week 2022 conference, organized in Brussels by the European Parliament, took place with the following panels: “Romani resistance”, “Contemporary Young Romani Heroes”, “Promoting positive narratives and raising awareness about the Romani language” and “Justice for Kosovo Roma”.
The second day of Romani Week 2022 has just finished. Today’s topics were dedicated to ” Historical and current dimensions of antigypsyism”. The panels discussed were as follows: ” The Decade to counter antigypsyism as a new strategy for Roma inclusion in the EU and Western Balkan & Turkey”; ”Historical and current dimensions of antigypsyism”; ”Combatting intersectional discrimination faced by Roma women” and ”Digital and Green agendas, challenges and opportunities for the Roma community”
The third day of the Roma Week 2022 Conference started debating issues related to the status of Roma families from the social protection perspective. The main topics presented today relate to “Legal framework and the legal opportunities for change” and” What change would we like to see? How to bring about change?”.
Romani Week 2022 closes today with the presentation of many topics designed to change the rasist attitudes against the romani community. Main speeches which took place in Bruxelles against romani discrimination and segregation are as follows: ”The Role of the Media in Combating Antigypsyism”; ...
